About Ragging: Ragging in any form is prohibited both on and off campus. Students who violate this rule face severe consequences; and no leniency is shown. The first action taken against the offender is suspension and/or withdrawal from the hostel/college. Ragging has also been declared a criminal offense by theHonourable Supreme Court of India.
Definition of student ragging:
Any conduct by a student, whether through words spoken or written, or through an act that includes physical abuse, lewd acts, teasing, rough or rude treatment, engaging in rowdy, undisciplined, and obscene activities that causes or is likely to cause annoyance, undue hardship, physical or psychological harm, or mental trauma, or raising apprehension or fear in a fresher/junior student or other students,or compelling a student to perform any act that the student is unwilling to perform and that has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, embarrassment, or danger to a student's life, or that adversely affects the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior student.
